Outdoor weddings are even more magical!
Why not enjoy your wedding day in the great outdoors? If you’re planning a wedding on a grander scale, a wedding marquee is a great option for up to 120 guests.
We can provide everything you’ll need to ensure that your wedding reception and evening party goes with a swing. Our in-house catering team can provide a barbecue or hog roast, or even pizza from our very own outside pizza oven. Alternatively, we work with several caterers in the area, along with a wide range of recommended suppliers who would be delighted to help create the wedding you’ve been dreaming of.
The perfect marquee wedding spot
A wedding marquee can be located on the lawn to the west of Alexander House. There are stunning views wherever you look – the impressive Gleneagles Hotel and golf courses, Ben Vorlich in the distance, and Strathearn, Amulree and Crieff, 'the Gateway to the Highlands'. This can be the backdrop for your wedding day.
We provide the venue and the stunning views - you simply book a marquee company and invite your family and friends to create the magical day!
Planning a traditional church wedding?
Our local churches are beautiful and will provide the perfect setting for a fairy-tale wedding ceremony. To find out more about marrying locally, please contact Scottish Churches.
It's your marquee, decorate it the way you want it!
The beauty of a marquee wedding is that you can easily transform it to convey the theme you’ve chosen for your day so easily. Whether you are working to a colour palette or have planned something more adventurous, the only limitation is your imagination.

Well I do not have the words to express the sheer delight and pleasure that Alexander House has given us and our guests. It has given us the most fantastic start to married life and we will never forget the amazing views.
Thank you so much for our just wonderful weekend at Alexander House. From Bene booking the house before he had even proposed (and you telling him he had to propose before you would confirm the booking!) to our special day, everything has been perfect. We could not have asked for a more intimate and special venue, with so many amazing views that the photographer was spoilt for choice for our wedding photographs!
OMG - How amazing is your house! Had the most fantastic weekend ever - the most beautiful house, and bride - ever!
Great setting for a lovely day and celebration with close friends and family - much enjoyed by all! Wonderful catering too.
A breathtaking setting for our wedding. We will never forget that view. Thank you Jo, for everything.
Watching Wuthering Heights the other day really reminded me of the moment I pulled up at the end of mile long drive way to arrive at Alexander House, Auchterader, for Aylin and Bene's wedding. I stopped my car when I was in view of the house to get a few shots before arriving and literally my car was rocking with the strength of the wind! It was so dramatic, with bruised skies and rolling hills with this house just perched at the top.
