Golf – oh my, where do we start? Almost every one of Scotland’s special golf courses are accessible from Alexander House, and with Gleneagles and it’s world class courses in plain view below us, just 3 miles away, that’s a very good place to start. St Andrews is 45 minutes away, Carnoustie an hour… Visit Scotland… & Scottish Golf Courses…
Food
Well, there is something for everyone in Perthshire, whether it be the most amazing vegetarian restaurant, that wee café on the corner, of Michelin fine dining. A few of our local highlights are below! If you find new ones, please let us know!
Deliveries: Please use PH31PR for all deliveries, the Post Office hasn’t quite caught up with our actual postcode (PH31PW)
Supermarket Deliveries – We are very happy for you to order from any one of the usual supermarkets – all of them deliver to Alexander House. Our housekeeping will be able to assist with fridge unpacks for an additional charge. Please add this extra at the checkout, and email us the delivery time to info@alexanderhousescotland.com
Local Shopping – Auchterarder is also just 2.5 miles away down the hill, with Co-op & Spa for your basics, 2 local pharmacies, and a range of lovely gift shops, and a raft of wonderful restaurants, 2 excellent butchers, and Alexa Hunter, at the top of the town, has a huge array of fruit and veg, that would do justice to any 5* restaurant kitchen (she supplies a couple locally). Ana & Oana, part of the AH in-house team, have worked in 5* hotels the world over, but Spain still hold their hearts! They bring Spanish Sunshine to AH with their Tapas & Paella Evening, table laid and decorated, Sangria at the ready……(this has to be the perfect Hen Do celebration supper!) or at the opposite extreme are delighted to book you in a Full Scottish Brunch or if you’d like to try something new, a Romanian Buffet Supper. Get in touch with Steve at Flat Out pronto, he’s a busy man and rightly so! He’s a complete dough officionado, so you’ll even have different types dough for you pizzas and flat breads! Email or WhatsApp for menus and your Hen Party cooking party, or nip across the hill on a Saturday for your flatbreads at his local pop up. Brilliant for Wedding Evening Snacks too – a bit different to the usual pizza van!

Victoria and Morag bring simply delicious, beautifully presented local produce. Fridge fills for your arrival, grazing tables, & evening wedding buffets too. Breakfast, brunch, picnic and afternoon teas, can also also be left in the fridges ready for your arrival, in stunningly presented boxes, for you to tuck into at your leisure. The extra mile is a given from Victoria and her team, and we cannot recommend her highly enough. Just get those deliveries booked in quick!
Nicki is a fabulous Private Chef who can also organise your hunting, shooting and fishing parties for you or a Corporate Executive Retreat. Delicious food, and an unflappable attitude make Nicki the perfect Corporate Host, or brilliant evening chef.

Nimto means ‘by Invitation’, and we highly recommend that you invite Anjali & family to Alexander House to cater for you! The delicious hand ground spices, the scents and aromas of real India come too, making for the most fabulous of meals. Anjali likes to theme her weekly meals around a place or Indian province. Don’t delay in booking though, Anjali and husband are (and rightly so), rather busy cooking from their wee kitchen!
